Creating a vivid picture, bringing the patient experience to life. Providing keen insight, takeaways and impact. Cause that’s what great storytellers do!
My sister explained my special situation in this simple way: “You sit perched in very unique position in the tree of life.” Hello, I’m Karen Peterson a keynote speaker, patient advocate and thought leader who uses my miraculous story to educate, uplift and bring awareness to campaign’s, projects and industry forums.
As one of the longest living persons diagnosed with Stage IV Triple Negative Breast Cancer in the world, my miraculous story to obtain the status of remission in a hostile environment that did not support a successful outcome has been used as a beacon of hope for numerous organizations. High profile or community based, bio tech or higher education, big pharmaceutical or non profit, the goal continues to be providing valuable, transparent and authentic messaging to an audience.
So, reach out, introduce yourself and take a peek at my journey which features some of my clients and organizations that have I’ve worked with.
A 2021 Blue Ridge Labs/Robinhood Fellow, I used the opportunity to form a grass roots non profit with the goal of providing educational opportunities (for patients as well as young investigational researchers) which ultimately led to a patient navigation partnership with a major teaching institution in their Phase I research program. Lastly in addition to advocacy, my client roster includes for film, keynote and awareness campaign’s includes Eli Lilly, Foundation Medicine, Gilead, Merck, Tri NetX, The Conference Forum, Walgreens as well speaking appearances at ASCO, The Atlantic’s People vs Cancer and the Susan G. Komen Metastatic Breast Cancer Conference.
